Abstract
In this context of a national debate on whether the atom holds the answer to the United States' energy needs, the Kansas Law Review has decided to sponsor this Symposium on the Wolf Creek nuclear power plant.8 The decision of the editors of the Review to examine Wolf Creek in this Symposium was an excellent one, because Wolf Creek raises questions of major importance to the state, the region, and the nation. The essays that follow will examine these questions. This Introduction to the Symposium has more modest aims: it summarizes the history of the Wolf Creek nuclear power plant and its relationship to the national debate on nuclear power, and introduces the issues and themes that the authors participating in this Symposium will present and develop.
