Abstract

This article explores the impact of Revised Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code on security interests creditors take in vendors' interests under installment land contracts. The installment land contract is widely used, and while Revised Article 9 helps to clarify some of the questions that existed before, parties to this type of vendor financing will still need to think carefully about how best to protect their interests, and they will also want to ensure the use of proper documentation.
